What is the longest cranial nerve?

The trochlear CN4 is the longest (about 7 to 8cm). This is because it arises at the back of the mid-brain, before coursing forward along the tentorium before diving into the cavernous sinus. This long course makes theĀ fourth nerve particurally susceptible to traumatic damage.
