Does the superior oblique muscle pass over or under the superior rectus?

The superior oblique muscle passes UNDER the superior rectus muscle.  You can remember this with the mnemonic “over-under, under-over” … thus, the SUPERIOR oblique passes UNDER the rectus, while the INFERIOR oblique passes OVER the inferior rectus (in relation to the globe).
