What is choroideremia?

This is an x-linked recessive rod-cone dystrophy that looks similar to retinitis pigmentosa, in that it is an x-linked recessive rod-cone dystrophy. However, you get marked atrophy of the choroid and the RPE, with normal retinal vessels and absence of optic atrophy. On FA, you can see huge areas of the choroid that are knocked out with a sort of scalloped appearance.
